- Seats on the Deutsche Bahn can be reserved, so if a seat has a Destination location on it, don’t sit there
- German people love to recycle
- Drink prices may or may not include the cost of the bottle they come in. If you return the bottle though, you get money back
- Grocery bags cost money
- No water fountains
- Cokes often come in glass bottles
- German roads are confusing
- For as health-conscience as Germans are, they really love to smoke
- Germans don’t include much if any ice in drinks
- Some German hair salons have DIY blow dryer stations
- Apparently Germans love Coca-Cola and nothing else because everyone seems to carry Coke, but hardly anyone has Pepsi. As far as I’ve noticed, only gas stations carry Dr. Pepper.
- Germans love to drive hatchbacks. I would estimate that at least as many people here drive hatchbacks as people drive trucks and SUVs combined in the US.
- 90% or more of sports cars I’ve seen have been black, for some unknown reason
- Most license plate numbers in Germany start with a region or city code, making it easy to figure out what part of Germany a car is from (i.e. cars registered in Marburg start with MR _____).
- Germans appear to have some fascination with Texas and Hawaii, especially the latter.
- The percentage of hot women in Germany is staggering.
- Apfelwein tastes the same as regular wine to me.
